I am always looking for simple camping gear that can do more than one job, and this inexpensive IKEA umbrella is a perfect example.

It provides quick shade beside my van, and with an umbrella holder clamp I found on Amazon, I can also attach it to a picnic table. The clamp has a wide opening, so it works even with thick campground tables.

The umbrella can be tilted and angled to block the sun exactly where I need it.

I recently found a sand anchor that fits the umbrella too, so I am waiting for my next trip to try it at the beach. One umbrella for the van, picnic table, and beach sounds like a pretty good deal!
