Modular. Fully removable. Solar powered. Built for two.
Hi! I’m Andriy, and SolarVanQuest is my DIY project – conversion of 2014 Toyota Sienna into tiny home on wheels. I built a comfortable bed, indoor electric kitchen, sink, fridge and off-grid electrical system into removable modules, so we can travel in a camper and still use our Sienna as a regular passenger van.

A camper when we travel. A Sienna when we don’t.
I wanted a practical travel camper without giving up the everyday car. These choices shaped the build.
Fully removable
The camper modules come out, so our Sienna can return to passenger use in about an hour.
A bed for two
A full-width sofa bed keeps the interior open, with storage underneath instead of bulky wall cabinets.
An indoor electric kitchen
Cook inside with induction and compact electric appliances, including on wet days and quick roadside stops.
Solar and flexible charging
Two 195 W roof panels support a hybrid electrical setup with a house battery and portable power station.
Ventilation through the sun and moonroof
Fans and mosquito protection use the existing sun and moonroof. The solar panels above also provide some rain and sun protection.
Built and used on real trips
This is my own 2014 Toyota Sienna conversion, refined through camping trips and everyday use.
